Whenever I think I know the possibilities of our kids, they show me that I really don’t have a clue. (long story, but worth it)

For example, the other day, Dakari amazed me. Our morning reading right now is The Alchemist. And like every other morning I asked him what his take is on what we’re reading.

But before I blow you away with his 10 year old brilliance, let me give you the backstory. In this chapter of The Alchemist, the main character, called the boy, is on a journey to an oasis. In the same caravan is this guy they call the Englishman.

Now the boy is growing into understanding the universal language of all things. He notices it everywhere. On the other hand the Englishman only sees meaning and wisdom in his books.

Along the way, they encourage one another to try the others point of view. The boy, will read his books and the Englishman will look into the desert for the universal language.

At the end of this experiment the Englishman was frustrated that he didn’t see anything. All he was was a bunch of sand and camels. However, the boy found the basic crux of the complex books and says “it all can be summarized on the back of an emerald”. All to say, the complexities of his books boils down to a very simple idea.

The Englishman mocks the boy in his head, saying to himself, he’s primitive and just doesn’t get it.

Here’s where it gets good….

So I ask Dakari “what’s your take?” He says…

“The Englishman doesn’t understand the essence of God, it’s beyond information”

I said, “what did you say!” My jaw dropped, he made me run room to room, yelling “Oh my God did you hear what he said” … most adults wouldn’t have gotten that let alone articulated it that way.

YOU MUST UNDERSTAND THE ESSENCE OF GOD,
IT’S BEYOND INFORMATION

AMAZED….

Had a good time with Dakari on his field trip.
